You will have a warm welcome and the host, Elsa have a great eye for the details to make your stay a great experience. We felt it like home from day one. Strongly recommended!

Perfect location in Reykjavik. Beautiful house with lots of history. Spacious apartment which had everything we needed. Lots of restaurants and bars on our doorstep (one night we went to one that was literally on the doorstep and had an incredible meal). Elsa checked in on us during our stay and we felt in good hands. We had a brilliant time topped off by seeing the Northern Lights, and would definitely come back here again.

5 stars for excellent customer service alone. We booked our honeymoon prior to Covid craziness and had no idea that Covid would be so poorly managed in the US. We had the dates locked in with work and booked a nonrefundable price, trying to save money. House of the Snowbird did not have to refund us, at all, and they did. 100% we will be staying with them in the future, when my country gets its act together.

What's love got to do with it ... ?

... everything! We put our heart into every detail in our preciously preserved historic house.

Located in the old town of Reykjavik, this iconic house was built the year 1898 by the beloved Icelandic poet Einar Ben. The house was is imported by ship from Norway and one can see signs of that here and there in the house, such as markings on the beams. The house is owned by a family of artists who have left their mark on its every detail. The interior style is an interesting fusion of old Scandinavia and raw modern art. The house is filled with artwork, paintings, photographs and ceramics by its owners which make it very unique.

The location is fantastic, with a view over the streets of the old town, surrounded by museums, galleries, cafés, restaurants and the old harbour. If you are into the unusual and want to experience an artistic side of Reykjavík, then this is your place.
